Urmia Municipal Palace (also known as Urmia Great Museum of Anthropology) is one of the attractions of Urmia city in West Azarbaijan province. This mansion was built in 1307 by the order of Reza Shah Pahlavi in Topkhaneh Square (now Revolution Square) and was used as the headquarters of the Urmia Police Department until 1360.architectureUrmia Municipal Building is built in neoclassical style with brick and stone materials. This mansion has two floors and a basement, and its infrastructure is about a thousand square meters. The main entrance of the mansion is located on its south side and is decorated with two large columns and an arched door.Museum of AnthropologyIn 2005, Urmia's Shahrabani mansion was turned into an anthropology museum. This museum has different sections, including clothing section, weaving section, agriculture section, livestock section, housing section and music section. In this museum, various objects and tools related to people's life in West Azerbaijan region are exhibited.Tourist AttractionsIn addition to the Museum of Anthropology, there are other tourist attractions around the Shahrbani mansion. Among these attractions, we can mention Revolution Square, Urmia Grand Mosque, Urmia Bazaar and Mellat Park.
