The Shahr-e Sukhteh Museum

The Shahr-e Sukhteh Museum is a specialized museum that was opened in 2003 on a 20-hectare plot of land opposite the ancient site of Shahr-e Sukhteh in Zabol. The museum was established to introduce the archaeological findings of Shahr-e Sukhteh and other ancient sites in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan, South Khorasan, and Kerman.

The Shahr-e Sukhteh Museum has different sections, including the Archaeology Section, the Ethnography Section, the Art Section, and the Library Section. In the Archaeology Section, artifacts from Shahr-e Sukhteh and other ancient sites in the region, such as beads, pottery and stone objects, reconstructed samples of graves found with skeletons, figurines, etc., are exhibited. In the Ethnography Section, artifacts from the culture and customs of the people of Sistan and Baluchestan, such as traditional clothes, tools and utensils, handicrafts, etc., are exhibited. In the Art Section, works of art by the people of Sistan and Baluchestan, such as painting, music, handicrafts, etc., are exhibited. In the Library Section,

specialized books and magazines on archaeology, ethnography, and art are kept.

The Shahr-e Sukhteh Museum is one of the most important museums in Iran, playing an important role in introducing the history and culture of Sistan and Baluchestan. This museum receives many domestic and foreign tourists every year.
