Tehran Allied Cemetery: a gateway to historyTehran Allied Cemetery, also known as Tehran War Cemetery or Government Cemetery, is more than just a cemetery. This place is a gateway to history and a reminder of the sacrifice of soldiers who lost their lives in World Wars I and II.History:In 1304, the Iranian government allocated a plot of land on the south side of the British Embassy garden in Qolhak neighborhood of Tehran for the purpose of burying the allied soldiers who died in the First World War. Initially, this cemetery was the burial place of British, Russian and Indian soldiers. After World War II, American, French and Polish soldiers were also buried in this cemetery.Specifications:The cemetery of the allies has an area of about 3 hectares and there are more than 3000 graves in it. The graves are arranged in rows and each grave has a tombstone with the soldier's name, rank and date of death engraved on it.Designing:The atmosphere of the Allied Tombs is simple and peaceful. Cypress and plantain trees have been planted in the cemetery and created a beautiful green space. At the entrance of the cemetery, there is a monument in the form of a turquoise dome, on which the names of the soldiers buried in this cemetery are engraved.Importance:The tomb of the Allies is important in many ways. This place is a reminder of the sacrifice of the soldiers who lost their lives in the war. Also, this cemetery is a symbol of Iran's long history of relations with other countries.Tourist attractions:As a historical and cultural place, the Allies Cemetery is of interest to domestic and foreign tourists. This place is a suitable space to reflect and remember the sacrifices of soldiers in the war.In addition to the mentioned items:At the Allied Cemetery, there are a number of other memorials to the Unknown Soldier and soldiers who died in other wars.Every year on the 11th of November (Memorial Day), a ceremony is held at the Allies Cemetery to honor the memory of the fallen soldiers.The Allies Cemetery is a good place for photography.
