This magnificent building, which dates back to the Sassanid period, seems to tell stories of the ups and downs of Iran's history. The grandeur and beauty of this brick building fascinates every tourist.Passage in history:The Rhine Citadel has experienced many ups and downs throughout its history. This building has been used in different historical periods, including the Sasanian, Safavid, and Qajar periods. During the Sasanian period, the Rhine Citadel was used as a military fortress to protect the region against enemy attacks. During the Safavid period, this building was used as the administrative and commercial center of the city of Rhine. During the Qajar period, Arg Rein was the residence of many people of the city.Unique architecture:The Rhine citadel is built using clay and mud and has different sections, including a fence, a tower and a rampart, a mansion, a mosque, and a market.Fence and tower and barrow:The Rhine Citadel is surrounded by a long and strong fence with a height of about 10 meters, which has several gates, towers and ramparts. In the past, this fence protected the citadel from enemy attacks. Among the towers and ramparts, Sardar Tower, which is the highest tower of the citadel, stands out. This tower, which is located at the highest point of the citadel, has a wide view of the surrounding area.Mansion:Inside the citadel, there is a magnificent mansion called Androni, which was the residence of the rulers and elders of the city. This mansion has several halls, rooms, and courtyards, which are decorated with beautiful decorations, including tiling and brickwork. Hall of Mirrors with exquisite mirror work and wall paintings is one of the most beautiful parts of the inner mansion.mosque:Inside the citadel, there is a historical mosque called Jame Mosque, which dates back to the Safavid period. This mosque has a large nave and a long porch decorated with tiled decorations. The mihrab of the mosque is one of the most exquisite parts of the mosque with its mosaic tiles and beautiful calligraphy.Market:Inside the citadel, there is a traditional bazaar called Kayserieh bazaar, which was a trading place in the past. This market has several rooms and shops where all kinds of goods are sold. The main row of the market with its high ceiling and brick arches evokes a pleasant and memorable atmosphere.
