This reservoir, which is one of the oldest reservoirs in Birjand, is an outstanding example of traditional Iranian architecture in hot and dry areas.History:Qajar period: Mohsenzadeh Reservoir was built in the Qajar period by Haji Mohsen Mohsenzadeh, one of the famous merchants of Birjand.Restoration: This reservoir was renovated in 2010.Architecture:Traditional style: Mohsenzadeh Reservoir is built in traditional Iranian style. The main materials used in the construction of this reservoir are brick, plaster and lime.Different parts: Mohsenzadeh Reservoir has different parts, such as head, vestibule, corridor, dome, water tank, stairs and platform.Decorations: Very beautiful decorations can be seen on the facade and inside of the reservoir. Geometric patterns, brickwork and tiling are among these decorations.Function:Water storage: Mohsenzadeh reservoir was used to store rainwater and aqueducts in the past. The water stored in this reservoir is used for drinking and agriculture.Ventilation system: Mohsenzadeh reservoir has a very good ventilation system that keeps the water stored in it cool and pleasant.
