Isfahan Museum of Decorative Arts: a treasure of Iranian artIsfahan Decorative Arts Museum is one of the famous and attractive museums of Isfahan city. This museum, which is located in Rakib Khaneh mansion, has displayed a large collection of art objects from the Safavid to Qajar eras.History of Isfahan Museum of Decorative Arts:During the Safavid era, Rakibkhaneh mansion was the place where royal equipment and horses were stored.During the Qajar era, this mansion was used as the residence of Zal Sultan, the ruler of Isfahan.In 1375, by transferring about 4000 pieces of objects from the Museum of Decorative Arts of Iran in Tehran to Isfahan, this museum was put into operation.Architecture of Isfahan Museum of Decorative Arts:

Rakibkhaneh mansion has two floors and a central courtyard.On the first floor of this building, there are various halls and rooms dedicated to displaying art objects.On the second floor of this building, there is a library and the administrative department of the museum.The courtyard of Rakib Khaneh mansion is a pleasant and relaxing space in the middle of which there is a large pond.Different sections of Isfahan Museum of Decorative Arts:Painting section: In this section, all kinds of Iranian paintings from Safavid to Qajar period are exhibited.Metalworking Section: In this section, various metal objects such as dishes, weapons and ornaments are displayed.Pottery Section: In this section, all kinds of Iranian pottery and ceramics from Safavid to Qajar period are displayed.Textile section: In this section, all kinds of Iranian textiles such as carpets, rugs and cashmere are displayed.Manuscript section: In this section, all kinds of Iranian manuscripts and exquisite books are displayed.
