This castle, which dates back to the Qajar period, is a relic of the glory of that era.History:The building of Haj Vakil Castle was started about 180 years ago by Haj Mohammad Hossein Maithami Vakil, one of the rich and influential people of Arak.At first, this castle was used as a yard and garden, and later, with the construction of the Kolah Ferangi mansion, it became the residence of Haj Mohammad Hossein Vakil and his family.Throughout history, Haj Vakil Castle has had various uses, including residential, administrative and military.After restoration and reconstruction in 2014, this castle was opened as a museum of handicrafts and traditional arts of Arak.Architecture:Haj Vakil Castle is a unique example of authentic Iranian architecture in the Qajar period.The use of bricks, tiles, plaster and painting in the construction of this castle has given it a beautiful and eye-catching effect.Tall towers, thick fences, and Kolah Ferangi mansion are among the prominent architectural elements of this castle.The decorations of wall paintings, plastering, and mirror work have doubled the beauty of the castle.The wall paintings of this castle depict images from the stories of the Shahnameh, Iranian mythology, as well as scenes from the daily life of the people.
