Garmsar Salt Band

Garmsar Salt Band is actually a set of abandoned salt mines near Garmsar in Semnan province. These mines are famous for their high salt walls and salt caves.Garmsar salt dam dates back to millions of years ago. At that time, this area was under a large sea. Over time, the sea water evaporated and the salt remained.Garmsar Salt DamOver the centuries, humans have used Garmsar Band salt for various purposes. Salt was used for cooking, preserving food, and making utensils.Today, Garmsar salt dam is one of the tourist attractions of Semnan province. People come to this area for the amazing views, hiking in salt caves, and photography.
