The art of Shiriki Pich: a shining gem in the desert of Iran's handicrafts

Shiriki Pich is one of the most valuable and unique handwovens of Iran, which is rooted in the rich culture of the nomads and villagers of our country. This original art, combining tradition and innovation, is recognized as a lasting work of art and a symbol of Iranian identity and culture.

History and distinctive features of Shiriki BeechShiriki Bich is a type of rug that is woven around the warp with the weft twisting technique. This unique technique has given Shiriki Pitch a special and distinctive effect. This art was more popular in rural and nomadic areas of Kerman province, especially Sirjan city. One of the distinctive features of Shiriki Beech is its variety of designs, vivid colors and strong texture.

Raw materials and tools used in Shiriki Beech weavingThe main raw material in Shiriki Beech weaving is sheep's wool, which is the first choice of weavers due to its high quality and durability. The tools used include a weaver, a spindle, scissors and a comb.

Various designs and roles of Shiriki PitchShiriki Beech designs are very diverse and are often inspired by nature, the surrounding environment and the imagination of the weaver. These designs are usually geometric and simple and consist of geometric shapes such as squares, rhombuses and triangles. The colors used in Shiriki Beech are also often natural and are obtained from plants and minerals.

The complex process of screw thread weavingWeaving of Shiriki screws is a time-consuming process that requires high precision and skill. In this method, the weft is wrapped around the warp and these twists create beautiful geometric designs on the rug. The main steps of Shiriki Bich weaving are:

Preparation of wool: wools are washed, dyed and spun.Fabric preparation: Fabric fabric is prepared based on the desired size and design.Weft and weft weave: the threads are stretched on the loom and then the weft is wrapped around the threads.Creating a design: By changing the twisting direction of the weft and the number of twists, different designs are created on the carpet.Finishing work: After finishing the weaving, the extra piles are trimmed and the rug is washed and dried.Variety of designs and colors in Shiriki PitchShiriki screws are very diverse in design and color. Geometric, floral and animal designs are among the most common designs used in this type of rug.
